Lawyers and authorised law firm representatives may claim an existing profile to verify core information and request updates.

Claiming a profile helps ensure that prospective clients can access accurate, current, and useful professional information.

What Claiming a Profile Means

A successful claim allows an authorised profile manager to:

  • Request factual updates
  • Submit an official biography
  • Add or update practice areas
  • Update office information
  • Add languages
  • Submit qualifications
  • Add professional photographs
  • Add publications and awards
  • Update consultation options
  • Submit official website links
  • Respond to verification requests

Claiming a profile does not give the claimant control over independent editorial reviews, user reviews, rankings, or comparisons.

Who May Claim a Profile

A profile may be claimed by:

  • The lawyer named in the profile
  • A law firm partner or director
  • An authorised marketing or communications employee
  • An authorised administrator
  • A professional representative with written authority

An external agency may be asked to provide confirmation from the law firm.

Please provide:

  1. Lawyer or law firm name
  2. Profile URL
  3. Claimant’s full name
  4. Claimant’s position
  5. Professional email address
  6. Law firm website
  7. Telephone number
  8. Relationship to the profile subject
  9. Requested updates
  10. Proof of authority

Verification Process

User Reviews

Claiming a profile does not allow a lawyer or law firm to delete user reviews.

A profile manager may:

  • Respond to reviews
  • Report policy violations
  • Request investigation

Review disputes are handled under our User Review Policy.

Editorial Reviews and Rankings

Claimants may request correction of factual inaccuracies.

They may not require SG Lawyer Reviews to:

  • Increase a score
  • Improve a ranking position
  • Remove a competitor
  • Publish marketing copy as independent analysis
  • Conceal a commercial relationship

Updating a Claimed Profile

Profile managers should notify us when:

  • Contact details change

  • A law firm merges
  • A firm closes or rebrands

We may periodically request reverification.
